Strengths: Producing, Writing, Communication, The Arts
Thom readily, and enthusiastically, admits to wearing many hats. Yet that variety has also proven to be his strength. The many careers Thom has enjoyed have also given him an ability to adapt, which is timely in the “new economy.”
In the world of journalism, Thom has been an editor (of Las Vegas Life and Las Vegas Magazine), a contributing editor (of 5280: The Denver City Magazine) and a staff writer for the Rocky Mountain News, covering the theatre and restaurant beats. He was also a well-known commodity on talk radio, having been a talk show host for more than eight years on many of the major AM channels in theDenvermarket.
For many years, Thom was also a part-owner and/or general manager of number of food and entertainment enterprises inDenverandLos Angeles, including Dudley’s, Café Ronchetti, Crayons, The Lodge at Vail,Rock Islandand Ruby Cabaret, where he hosted entertainers from across theUnited StatesandEurope.
Additionally, Thom has travelled extensively, having visited more than 50 countries on every continent exceptAntarctica. He was a marketing consultant to the Arts Council of Mongolia in Ulan Bator; ran a children’s theatre program for the City of Aurora; taught English as a Second Language in Bolivia; acted, produced and/or directed more than 30 stage shows; volunteered with dozens of state and national charities; and worked in social media for the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
All that, and he’s just getting warmed up. Thom has a keen interest in eco-tourism and sustainability issues, volunteerism, and producing innovative new games.
