For 20 years, Michael has been actively involved in both the corporate and startup environment. In
numerous roles, he has contributed at different capacities to developing business within and outside
of the U.S. markets.

Michael seeks innovative challenges – the tougher, the better. It reflects his general attitude towards
global business. His background is a testimonial to what can be achieved, in a non-linear manner,
with very broad swathes of experiences.

He has worked in industries ranging from fiber optics, internet, telecom, imaging, and
nanotechnology to food manufacturing and retail footwear – all as an active participant. His extensive
experience began in the U.S. working for the subsidiary of Nippon Sheet Glass (NSG) in its Fiber
Optics Division. He later worked for Alcoa-Fujikura Ltd. and Ciena Corp. in technical product
marketing and product line management for subsystems and systems, respectively. Aside from these
functions, Michael possesses direct experience in technical and commercial sales, engineering, and
operations in a B2B and B2C eco-system.

In the past decade, he has been active in creating start ups based in the food, nanotech, and retail
footwear industries – from a family-owned venture to an academic research-turned-innovation
enterprise.

Michael received a B.S. in optical engineering from the Institute of Optics at the University of
Rochester (U.S.).
