David is the Managing Director at Telopea Capital Partners as well as an Independent Director at The9 Limited and Asiainfo.  Prior to TCP, he was the Managing Director of Arctic Capital Limited. He was also with Peak Capital, a boutique PE firm focused on China, where he made numerous investments including Mecox Lane (China’s leading multi-channel direct retailer which was later sold to Sequoia).

While at IFC, Davin was involved in over 40 debt and equity transactions totalling over US$1 billion, including Plantation Timber Products, Jingyang Cement, Midway Infrastructure, Zhenjing Leather, and Scana Leshan. He led IFC’s pioneering efforts in investing in Western China, state-owned enterprise reform, as well as China’s earliest private manufacturers, financial institutions and infrastructure firms. Davin was a Board Director for five IFC investments and also led several advisory assignments for the Chinese Government.

Davin is currently an independent director of AsiaInfo-Linkage (Nasdaq: ASIA), and of The9 Limited (Nasdaq: NCTY). He was previously an independent director of three Hong Kong-listed companies. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the China Economic Quarterly and a frequent consultant to the Asian Development Bank and World Bank on issues of private investment in China.

Davin is a member of the Development Committee of the Western Academy of Beijing, and previously Chair of the Finance and New Facilities Committees and later Chair of the Board. He was previously Chair of the Management Committee of Sports Beijing and was an active volunteer coach of youth ice hockey, soccer and rugby. He was the Head Coach of the 2005 Beijing Sun Life Dragons, the first team from China to participate in the Quebec Peewee Ice Hockey Tournament. He plays for the Hot Wings in the Beijing International Hockey League.

Davin first lived in China as a student in 1981 and since has lived in China for almost 20 years. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
