Bing Wan is a Chinese visiting scholar invited by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation under the auspices of the German Chancellor Fellowship. This award is given annually to up to 10 potential leaders from China, Russia and the USA, who have shown outstanding leadership potential in their profession of fields, and enables them to stay in Germany/EU for one year to lead a project of their own interests.

Bing’s individual research project is centred on the topic of CO2 inventory and assessment methods. Built on his previous expertise, he is determined to learn about the existing assessment methodologies and tools in Europe, adopt them to China with up-to-date emission factors, and bring them to the acceptance of various Chinese stakeholders.

Previously Bing was working for Siemens Management Consulting (SMC), the in-house strategy consultancy of Siemens AG, as Senior Consultant and later as Project Lead. He is a founding member of the SMC Sustainable Development Practice. Prior to his work with Siemens, Bing had worked for 7 years in various industries such as real estate investment, hospitality and entertainment industries.

Bing has an MBA from University of Cambridge, a certificate in Managerial Accounting from London School of Economics and a bachelor degree from Zhengzhou University of Aeronautics. In his spare time, he likes hiking, reading and making short movies.
